Suggested Topics

For your paper, you are required to choose a topic related to databases. Below is a list of potential topics suggested by your professor:

  • New developments in databases
  • Object-oriented databases
  • Multi-dimensional modeling
  • Data warehouses
  • Data mining
  • Web database applications

Also remember that you are required to tie the topic you choose into the major topics covered in the course, and compare and contrast your topic with the material covered in the course.

Getting Started

You've chosen a topic, so what now?

Getting started on the research process can seem overwhelming. Luckily we have outlined a few steps for you to create your outline, find and evaluate your sources, gather information, and draft your ideas on the page. Check out our Information Literacy and Research Skills Guide. And as always, if you're stuck contact the library for guidance.

Things to Keep in Mind

For the CS215 Term paper, students should consider the following:

  1. Minimum of three valid research references. You may not use Wikipedia, commercial (.com) sites, blogs, or the course textbook.
  2. One reference must be an Internet source
  3. You may use another textbook for only one of the references
