Poetry Contest: 2015 Winners

Guidelines for the annual Poetry Contest at Manor College

The Seed

You lie in sheets filled with deceit

Eternal threads made obsolete

The crinkles and creases are all ironed out

They cover the mattress with hesitant doubt

The body's imprinted its coils and springs

Covered by cloth and much softer things

Days turn to months and it still contains

Laced with the essence, unburied remains.

Rebecca Frieberg

A Whisper in the Air

A whisper in the air a casual thought,

From things that comes to past.

Opening wounds lost in our minds,

Please God don’t let them last.

You came to me in my time of need

When I thought all hopes had end.

The beautiful words you gave to me

I knew that I found a friend.

The way you make me feel inside

No longer do I feel despair,

A ray of hope now in my life

From a Whisper in the Air.
