Its Easy!

Step 1: Pick a Book*

Step 2: Interpret it with Food

* A Book can be anything from cover art, to characters, to plot, to the title. 

Rules

  • All Manor students, faculty, or staff are invited to participate
  • You can enter as an individual or as a team
  • Participants must register by April 4, 2017 (fill out the form below)
  • Entries must be primarily edible and represent a book
  • You must bring a copy of the inspiration book, or check it out from the library, and display it near your creation
  • Entries should hold their shape while on display [about 2.5 hrs without refrigeration]
  • Entries must be delivered to the Library on April 5 by 11:30 am
  • Multiple entries allowed

Schedule

9:00am to 11:30am: Edible books entries accepted

Noon to 1:00pm: Public viewing and judging

1:00 to 1:30 pm: Votes counted and prizes awarded

1:30 to 2:00 pm: Entries eaten by participants and viewers

Clean Up: Volunteers needed! Thank you in advance for your help.

Pro Tips

  • You don't have to be a Cake Boss to enter, have fun! 
  • For inspiration come browse the stacks at the Library or look at some other student works at the University of Illinois, Albright College or Duke University.
  • Brainstorm and be creative. Try different ways to think about a how to interpret a book.
  • Try different foods and do a test kitchen. "Edible" can be any kind of food products.
  • Ask a friend: make it a group entry!
